This sixth and last race of 500 Miles Open Kart took place last Sunday under an interrupted rain. The 18 crews on track defied a lashing rain to come at the end of the 2-hour race. The most skillful and the most patient of the drivers succeeded in challenging their go-kart which was hard to control on wet track.
On the podium, we find on the highest step the La Seyne-La Bergerie team which preserves its 4th place in the general classification with 334.8 miles completed (1 lap = 0.6 miles). The "seynoise" team was closely chased by a newcomer in the competition: Les Milles-Margoulins team picks up the 2nd place of this race for their first participation at the 500 Miles. The Top 3 is completed by the current leader of the general classification with 356.4 miles, Carqueiranne-Ecureuil Côte d'Azur team, also the author of the best lap time of the race: 1:18.929. With the recorded number of miles, the crew of Carqueiranne is henceforth sure to win the 500 Miles challenge.
The second team of the general classification, Marseille-Seat ended the race at the 12th place, whereas Côte d'Azur-Ecureuil team, the 3rd of general classification (348.6 miles) was classified at the 8th position of this race.
Next meeting: on April 19th for the 7th and last race of the 500 Miles Open Kart which will crown the Carqueiranne-Ecureuil Côte d'Azur team. For the second place, nothing is decided yet: this last race will be determining for Marseille-Seat, Côte d'Azur-Ecureuil and La Seyne-La Bergerie teams.
