From 1969 to 1999

1970: creation of the PR circuit (opened April 19).

From 1971: Formula 1 French Grand Prix hosted (14 events through 1990).

From 1978: Bol d'Or events (22 events through 1999).

French Motorcycle Grand Prix hosted (12 events through 1999).

1999: Site of race track and Castellet air field bought by Excelis company. Philippe Gurdjian, organizer of the French Grand Prix from 1985 to 1997, is tasked with heading up the renovation of the site, in order to make it the first track in the world dedicated exclusively to testing and communication, renamed the Paul Ricard High Tech Test Track.
