During the Retromobile show in Paris from January 22nd to 31st, the Circuit Paul Ricard invited some people and journalists who made history of French motorsport, to a press conference launched the celebration of the Circuit's 40 years. Amongst them, the former drivers Jean-Pierre Jabouille, Gérard Larousse, Jacques Laffite and Jean-Pierre Beltoise.
For this event, an organisation comittee of "40 years of legend" has been created by François Chevalier (circuit director from 1971 to 1999), Jacques Luc (tracks manager from 1972 to 1999), Claude Michy (events and races organisator), Philippe Monneret (motorcycle driver), Gérard Neveu (circuit director), Jean-Pierre Paoli (circuit conceptor in 1969), Laurent Persillet (president of the association "Passion Circuit") et Claude F. Sage (circuit delegate administrator).
Gérard Neveu, circuit director, is pleased to announce the event to all passionate people who lived and created the circuit legend : "Paul Ricard created the circuit 40 years ago and we have to pay tribute to him and celebrate these 40 years of passion and emotion. On October 10th we will go over this wonderful history and share our memories."
