On Sunday, March 08th 2009 a new page of the circuit Paul Ricard history had been written. Indeed, the mythical circuit reopened its doors to the public at Le Mans Series official test session.
A true and surprising success for the launch season test session of Pprototypes and GT cars.
The tests have let guess a great future, lap times were very regular with few distances between both sessions, and also productive for the drivers who learnt a lot. Most of them have discovered the new track since the renovation of the circuit Paul Ricard HTTT.
Oreca Matmut, Aston Martin Racing and Strakka Racing teams made the difference as the three leaders of the classification for both sessions, with a record lap time for Oreca Matmut team who signed a lap time of 1: 41.442.
The circuit reopening was a real success because there were not less than 3 500 spectators. To be continued...
