Jean Alesi appointed President of the Circuit Paul Ricard
"I am very honored by this nomination. The Circuit Paul Ricard marked the beginning of my career and confirmed my passion for motorsport.
Looking back on my years as a young driver, I would never have imagined that I would hold this position years later, this circuit is linked to my destiny."
The driver from Avignon first came to the Circuit Paul Ricard in 1972 to see his father in a national competition.
Later, in 1983, Jean Alesi enrolled for his 18th birthday at the Winfield driving school, which was then giving out scholarships to enter Formula 1.
Jean Alesi then took his first Formula 1 start, on the Circuit Paul Ricard, at the French Grand Prix on July 4, 1989, the event that marked the beginning of the driver's great career at 201 Grand Prix. Since 2017, Jean Alesi has been an ambassador for the french track and represents it, in particular, internationally.
