The Circuit Paul Ricard welcomed Ferrari this week for the fifth round of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Europe 2024, the most intensely contested stage of the 32nd season of the Italian series before the world final in October in Italy.

With a record number of participants (77 drivers), this fifth round of the season put on a great show. Divided into the four categories Trofeo Pirelli, Trofeo Pirelli Am, Coppa Shell and Coppa Shell Am, the drivers gave their all to secure the final points that are so precious for the overall standings.

For the Trofeo Pirelli, the drivers have a new mount at their disposal this season: the 296 Challenge. Derived from the 296 GTB, the 296 Challenge features significant modifications to the engine and aerodynamics to achieve maximum performance on the track. This race car comes very close to the solutions tested on the 296 GT3, which have already proved their worth in GT competition. Also seen on track this weekend are the former Ferrari 488 racing cars for the 488 Challenge Evo.

To accompany this good news, the F1 driver who is inseparable from Scuderia Ferrari, the President of the Circuit Paul Ricard, Jean Alesi, could not resist the temptation of a few laps of the track in the 296 Challenge during testing.
