Circuit Paul Ricard hosted a key milestone in Ford's return to the top level of world endurance racing. On Monday, August 17, the American manufacturer carried out the first tests of its future Hypercar, set to join the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) starting in 2027.
This session follows a "shakedown" programme that began on August 5 at Le Castellet, during which the team validated every function of the prototype system by system before moving on to real-world testing conditions. Three drivers took turns behind the wheel for this first outing: Matt Campbell, Logan Sargeant and Tom Blomqvist.
With this Hypercar, Ford is preparing its official return to endurance racing's premier category.
With this event, Circuit Paul Ricard once again confirms its status as a benchmark testing ground for major manufacturers competing in international endurance racing.
