After two monthsof renovation, Le Castellet International Airport reopened its doors to air trafficon January 22th. A breath of fresh air for the Var airport inaugurated by PaulRicard in 1962.
Ideally locatedon the edge of the Circuit Paul Ricard and a few kilometers from seasideresorts such as Cannes and Saint-Tropez, Le Castellet International Airportwelcomes, all year round and discreetly, travelers on tourist visits or onbusiness trips to the South region, or racing drivers who come to the CircuitPaul Ricard.
The workentrusted to Colas last November mobilized a hundred employees for two months.The construction techniques have been designed to limit the environmentalimpact of the work (for example, the reuse or recycling of 100% of thematerials on the site).
This majorproject, entirely financed by Le Castellet International Airport compagny, wasan opportunity to adapt the runway to the new European and internationalstandard of the EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency).
Soon, work willalso start in the Castellet terminal to modernize the passenger reception area:lighting, floor repairs, painting, air conditioning... The airport will presenta unique offer and modern equipment.
