For its third round of the season, the Historic Tour treated itself to a weekend in the Var region, on the Paul Ricard circuit. The weekend featured 18 races divided into 10 distinct grids. In total, nearly 230 drivers, behind the wheels of 210 cars, battled it out on the former F1 track in its 3.775 km configuration, without the chicane.

FRENCH CHAMPIONSHIP UPDATE

After the first three rounds held under dry and hot weather conditions, some drivers took the opportunity to extend their lead in the race for the French Championship title.

In the Single-Seaters/Prototypes category, only one driver has achieved a perfect score over the first three weekends: François Belle (Historic Formula Ford). With 240 points out of a possible 240, he now leads Axel Castillou (190 points in Formula Ford Kent), who won race 1 this weekend, by 50 points. Swiss driver Jean Dionisotti, who placed second and third in Historic Formula Ford, closely follows with 188 points after six races.

In the Pre-90 GT/Touring category, Alain Lagache (Maxi 2L) retains the top spot in the standings after two second-place finishes this weekend. He has a total of 215 points, 14 points ahead of Dominique Vulliez (Lotus Trophy), who also claimed two second-place finishes at Paul Ricard and now stands at 201 points. Jean-Marc Breugnot (Maxi 2L) is next with 176 points.

On the Post-90 GT/Touring side, Frédéric Chaulan takes the lead with 225 points after a double victory in the Youngtimers Gti Cup. He leads by 9 points over Yannick Blanc, who lost his lead despite winning race 1 in the Roadster Pro Cup and finishing fourth in race 2. Julien Nougaret steps onto the podium with 188 points, also in the Roadster Pro Cup.

Finally, in Historic Endurance, Sébastien Mathieu remains at the top despite a fourth-place finish this weekend. He has 101 points, 11 more than Jean-Pierre Destombes, who climbed to second place thanks to his victory at Paul Ricard. The reigning French champions, Jean-François Besson and Guillaume Gagnard, follow with 83 points.
